Riders headed to Drombane in Co. Tipperary for Round 5 of the Munster CX league.
The event, promoted by by Upperchurch Drombane Cycling Club attracted a big entry across all categories.
In the elite men’s race, it was a 3man race from the start with Paudi O’Brien and Dillon Corkery of Verge Pi Cycles and Richard Barry of St Finbarr’s quickly opening a gap to the rest of the field. The trio swapped the lead up until the last lap when the Verge Pi Cycles opened a gap, with Dillon taking the win, followed by Paudi and Richard in third.
In the ladies race, Lucy O’Donnell followed up on her big win in the UK last week with another win. The winner from Round 4, Grace Young came in second while league leader Nessa Rochford rounded out the podium.
Pat Clifford continued his good form with another M40 win, while Trevor Woods was once again untouchable in the M50 category.
David McCarthy was the Junior winner and Daniel Lynch of O’Leary Stone took another win in the B race.
